The underlying concept behind the Any Day family of tables and coffee/side tables dwells in the concept of subtraction.
The designer intentionally stripped the design of non-essentials, to then focus on “the details, the precise proportions and masterful execution, inherent features that inescapably define the quality of that object”.
The basic idea was to set a piece of wood on a simple metal structure. The first items to grow out of this concept were a coffee/side table and a console, followed by a dining table, desk and a series of cabinets.
The Any Day desk conceals practical invisible drawers while the series of Any Day cabinets comes in an array of configurations that satisfy many practical needs, and can be placed in different rooms in the home – from the entry to the living room and even the bedrooms.
All of the pieces are flawlessly finished, even on the back, so they can also be used as room dividers.

The structure of the Times Lounge armchair is made from solid ash in a moka or wenge stain. The wood has a visible circular cross section and an oval cross section for the lower connecting beams. The armchair cushion support embraces the wooden structure and is made from Pelle Frau® leather. A supporting technical textile located under the seat acts as a spring. The seat and backrest cushions are padded with polyurethane foam and polyester wadding while the armrests are padded with polyester wadding. The lining of the backrest and armrest cushions is stitched as a single element, the lining of the seat cushion is separate and attached to the rest of the lining. The cushions are secured to the structure using hidden zips and snap buttons. The cushions can also be covered with Pelle Frau® leather or fabric. In both cases the cover can be removed. An additional cover can be purchased separately.The structure of the Times Lounge pouf is in solid ash and is distinctive for its two circular-section stands at the sides connected by two oval-section bars which echo the design choices of the armchair. It is available with a moka- or wenge-stained finish. A band of Pelle Frau® leather forms the taut surface over which the second padded cover, in polyurethane foam and polyester wadding, is positioned. The upholstery is available in Pelle Frau® leather or fabric. In both cases the upper padded cover can be removed.

Cassina continues its study of the furniture of the city of Chandigarh and adds the Civil Bench to the Hommage à Pierre Jeanneret Collection; a collection that stands out for its essential forms and simple materials, a balance between modern European ideals and traditional Indian spirit. The bench, produced between 1955 and 1956 for the lodgings and apartments of the members of the Indian city’s Legislature Assembly, consists of three consecutive seat elements supported by a single frontal crossbar and two side supports positioned in the shape of an inverted "V". The seat has the typical weaving that recurs in all the Collection, while the Cassina Research and Development Centre proposes two variants for the wooden frame, in natural oak and stained black oak, in addition to the historic teak version, that are produced in the company’s historic carpentry workshop. The same material for all of the other elements, shelves, compartments and rear panel: the oak veneer with lead or tobacco stain elegantly alternates glossy and matt surfaces.The structure of the Jobs Low Cabinets is in MDF panels with Lead or Tobacco oak veneer with glossy finish, with the exception of the top with its matt finish. The base is in lead-coloured brushed steel with adjustable feet and central connecting crossbar painted in scratchproof texturised black paint. The back of the Jobs Low Cabinet has a tilting door that accesses a little internal compartment that allows cables, which rise from the floor to the top, to pass through the slot that runs along the entire length of the surface. Jobs Low Cabinet is available in two lengths, 230 cm and 284 cm, both of which come in two different versions in terms of doors and drawers.

The Ren bookcase is a graphical weave of lines. The two lateral uprights, slightly inclined, support the birch plywood shelves, upholstered in saddle-leather with a Canaletto walnut veneer on the sides. The upper crosspiece is fixed to the wall using metal hooks with a natural brass finish. The bookcase comes in a low version with a round multi-purpose tray upholstered in saddle-leather hanging from the upper crosspiece, and in a tall version. They differ from each other in terms of height, width and number of shelves. Both variants can be completed with bookends in brushed steel with a natural brass finish.

The asymmetrical shape of the Pura bowl is a result of the balance of solids and voids and leads it to rest naturally on just one side. The marble is processed using numerically controlled machinery and then smoothed by hand to give it a semi-polished finish that preserves its natural appearance. Dizzy has a motif formed of small broken lines in two different colours positioned both horizontally and vertically. The strokes originate at the centre of the rug and form a radial effect stretching towards the external edge, gradually becoming longer and thinner. The design is based on a musical score and therefore suitable for being presented in different variants and dimensions.The rugs in the Dizzy collection come in two sizes: 200X300 cm and 250X350 cm, and four very stylish shades, two dark: Blue Green, Deep Red and two light: White Sand and Light Gray.
The Dizzy rug is entirely handmade on wooden looms using the Persian knot technique and has a density of around 50,000 knots per m2 with a long pile.
The selection of raw materials is essential in making the surface soft, resistant but also glossy. Only top-quality 100% natural carded and hand-spun wool is used. It is for this reason that the colours are not absorbed in a perfectly uniform way, giving the dyes unique degrees of intensity. Dizzy has a 4 cm-high edge produced using the Kilim technique and made from wool on the two shorter sides, in the same colour as the background of the rug.
The collection is distinctive for the saddle-leather label hand-sewn on the back of the rugs and stamped with the Poltrona Frau logo. To keep the corners rigid, two strips of fabric are sewn onto the back of the rug and embroidered with Max Huber’s signature.
