Bringing the indoors to the outside is always filled with compromise. For many design takes a second place to comfort, for others it is vice versa. For Gino Carollo, compromise was never going to be an option. The outdoors should always have as much style and comfort as anything we produce for living indoors. Inspired by a bond with nature, Santos uses strong geometric lines to interweave and overlap to create a dynamic form. Using solid materials, treated to be protected all year round, function is a priority but never overshadows the strong design which bridges the desire between indoor and outdoor living. Just one look at this design and you’d be mistaken for a piece of furniture that would be welcome in any interior living space. That’s the point though, right? Why should the outdoors feel less enjoyable when in reality, it’s anything but the case.

Whilst sounding like something that was the iconic arcade game of the 70s, Moon Invaders is more a statement of design than any creative game play. It is best to think about Moon Invaders as a welcoming embrace of the nuanced isometric American art movement of the 80s and 90s. Playing with the square and rectangular form as their principle shape and style, it makes no excuses for the flamboyant use of materials. Marble is the striking center piece whilst the Tuscan styling and use of vegetable tanned leather makes up the arrangement for the corners and lifts on the outside. Finished with thin metallic legs, Moon Invaders is more than a play on words, but one of our environment and how we can create new emotions.

It is easy to get carried away with perfection. The most linear forms, the softest of soft materials, the most perfect circle and so on. But at Arketipo we take pride in the imperfections, sometimes it is what we seek to create something… perfect. Some of our most iconic designs are imperfections. Milestone is championing this with Gino Carollo’ s broken marble design. Where others seek to have the flattest surface, Gino has gone about breaking the marble to form a new design, an imperfection for perfection. An ode to angular design done by breaking rather than cutting. We champion all of our designs; Milestone is no different.

Finding balance has become an intricate art, whether in life or in the more physical manifestations of our day to day; Oracle has been described as an 'illusion', a 'law bending structure of interior physics' and even 'a centre point.' Oracle has an aim, one that looks to address balance in the structural form. The base is a complex piece of manufacturing, three metallic circles that meet at different angles proving that elegance can be art and that luxury can push boundaries; it is interior engineering that looks as stunning as it is thoughtful. Whilst the base is available in micaceous brown, brass, titanium and oxy grey, the top is cut to a circular shape or oval and it is available in moka oak or sucupira and Emperador marble or Niveo White marble with the rotating tray Lazy Susan, which is perfectly integrated in the table. The only way that the original Oracle design could be improved to showcase lightness, poise and balance was to keep most of what made the original Oracle unique, the base structure. Made up of three metallic circles that meet at different angles proving that elegance can be art and that luxury can push boundaries, the top has changed to something more, visual and yet invisible; glass.
Oracle hasn't let go of what made it unique it's just rendered it more visible.
Oracle shows us that rooms can find balance, it's just a case of knowing how.

The city is a melting pot of ideas, cultures, people, and identities. How can you channel that into something we can all take into our own lives, our own living situations? Gino Carollo may present us with an answer. With its frame in eucalyptus and zebrano wood, a smoked glass segment and a marble top, Brooklyn has a lot going on in one beautifully designed product; not too dissimilar to a place which even New York raised Anthony Bourdain famously quipped, “I have never truly gotten to know.”

When fashion, style and culture collided in the mid 20th Century, London was the centre of the world and SoHo was its capital. The swinging 60s heralded a new way of thinking and a new way of living. Design was and never would be the same and it’s why our bedside table deserved a name to befit the ideas of its time. Gino Carollo has created something which represents that swinging sixties vibe with a nod to our modern day culture. Wood and glass represent today’s interpretation of high quality materials used in the most precise form whilst its geometric shape is a reminder of that transformative period in global culture. Liberated by its fluid form, SoHo is a geometric construction of three different elements perfectly overlapping to give a strong and expressive shape without losing any of its delicate touch. Old meets new, which is never a bad thing.

If we were to tell you that we found the inspiration behind this design from a computer game, what would you say? Soap bubbles perhaps? Both? Design has a way of playing with irony, using it and transforming what is, at first, a strange idea into something tangible, new, different. That is Bubble Bobble, inspired by the unusual and with a sense of irony. Recognizable by the three glass spheres of different sizes and available in two distinct finishes, they are supported by thin metal strips, playing with natural light between the spheres artificially created by the shapes. It's an emotional construction, one that senses and creates a room's ambience with ease and elegance, all thanks to a play of a few curious minds.

"They're Oompa-Loompas...Imported direct from Loompa land." Willy Wonka - WILLY WONKA & THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY -Thanks to a unique mottled glass design and play on childhood storytelling, Oompa Loompa is more than an ode to the characters from Willy Wonka, it's about turning light and the spaces around it into theatre. A dramatic escape from the norm, a play on what is achievable when imagination is set loose and allowed to tap into childhood fantasy. From the suspended collection (available in three sizes) to the floor lamp, Oompa Loompa defines its style with bold glass colours (bronze and aquamarine blue) and radial positioning allowing it to play on light and leaving one's own imagination to take flight.

It could be that we've forgotten how to use partitions, yet In- Dependent may make us reassume a love for them and the space they capture. This new and unique design looks at overlapping, in sequence materials creating a highly expressive three-dimensional effect. Naturally, partitions are about creating divisions in space, allowing new perspectives and illusions thanks to the mirrored element as part of the material choice. The result? A combination of function and form that reveals new ways to look at your room depending on where you place and use it.

Designed by Gino Carollo, Vanity Fair is a different way of appreciating mirror design. The designer has opted for a rhomboid design to reflect discreet preciousness and beauty by contrasting materials like velvet and leather with the smoked glass element. Alone, paired, or even as a row of three, Vanity Fair is flexible in its use and approach to interior design.
