Collection: Charlotte Perriand
Brand: Cassina
Specifications:
Currently available in just one size, the Rio low table was originally created by Charlotte Perriand as two. Between 1962, the year she designed the piece and 1967, Charlotte Perriand made a larger version intended for the Japanese embassy in Paris. The unusual beauty of the Rio table, matched by its functionality make it a veritable work of art. The six segments, made in solid wood, each with a different radius, offset from each other, create a jagged outer edge, while the hole in the centre evokes a centre of gravity. Cassina re-issued the original version in 1962, reproducing the original lines, thanks also to the extraordinary crafts skills of the artisans of Meda, a town in the Brianza area north of Milan.

Specifications:
Charlotte Perriand began designing the “en forme libre” series of tables in 1938 and devised Mexique in 1952 for the students’ rooms in the Maison du Mexique at the Cité Universitaire Internationale in Paris.Re-edited by Cassina for the first time in 2014, it gave rise to a collection that includes several iterations, all while staying true to the original designs. Now, working closely with Pernette Perriand-Barsac, daughter and sole heir of Charlotte Perriand, Cassina introduces the Mexique tables and stools in new versions for en plein air enjoyment to the max.
The iconic triangular shape with bevelled edges - originally designed to make the best use of the available space - remains the unmistakable trait in the Mexique Outdoor line, launched this year as a low table, dining table and high table with matching stool, available in two heights. New materials available in fresh, novel finishes and colours differentiate and emphasize the elegant design of this family. For all of the pieces in the series, Okoume wood, ideal for outdoor use, comes with matt lacquer finish in the following colours: marron glacé, China red, comfort, petroleum, light grey, sage green, a new shade of blue and Capri blue; the low tables also come with glossy glazed ceramic finish in the following shades: mossy green, basalt grey and light grey, while a natural teak seat is also available for the stools.
Thanks to this vast and varied product range, it is possible to mix and match the various styles to create dynamic, free-form arrangements in absolute Charlotte Perriand spirit.
As is true of all the works in the Cassina I Maestri Collection, each piece is authenticated by the Cassina logo, Charlotte Perriand’s signature and by a serial number that corresponds to the data on its ID card.

Specifications:
Charlotte Perriand’s innovative designs are the expression of a new art de vivre that ran against the currents of the day. Hers is a design approach nourished by multidisciplinary activities, including a key role played by photography. In this art of living, Perriand pours her passion for observing Nature into the smallest, most revealing details. The Le Monde de Charlotte Perriand collection ‒ which began as a partnership between Cassina and Pernette Perriand-Barsac, Charlotte’s daughter and founder of her mother’s archives ‒ is inspired by the patterns in the photographs taken by Perriand between 1933 and 1934 and manufactured in partnership with Ginori 1735. Hand-decorated patterns for porcelain dinnerware that brings another of the designer’s passions to fruition ‒ ceramics ‒ matured in contact with the Japanese masters during the years she lived in the Far East. Le Monde de Charlotte Perriand collection is composed of a charger, dinner plate, soup plate and dessert plate, presented in sets of two, with three different decorations that can be mixed or matched. Engraved on the plates are the designs inspired by Charlotte’s photos. Here, the plates painted with the Tronc pattern depict the circular striations of a tree trunk that could be the face of a lemur or the sensual mouth of an Indian goddess. Or, in the Neige pattern, the contours of a snow slab in the cracks of a stone floor, captured on film in the Fontainebleau forest in 1934, elicit the likenesses of mythological animals or gorgons. Or, still, the fish bone on the Arête service that calls to mind a mysterious work tool. To ensure authenticity, each item is marked with the Cassina and Ginori 1735 logos.

Collection: Ico Parisi
Brand: Cassina
Specifications:
Designed by Ico Parisi in 1960 for Cassina, at that time “Figli di Amedeo Cassina”, the 875 is a welcoming and elegant armchair. The author’s typical experimentation has led to a project that is both classic and modern at the same time. Its proportions, with its large seat and comfortable armrests, outline its solemn profile, while the original arched steel supports in different finishes - to which its shell is bound - and the contrast of different ma-terials make it eclectic, innovative and functional in any room of the house. The structure of the armchair, initially padded with foam rubber cut into sharp edges, has now been re-issued with polyurethane foam padding to maintain its linear shape. Both the seat and backrest are upholstered in fabric from the Cassina collections, as are the removable cushions.

Collection: Afra & Tobia Scarpa
Brand: Cassina
Specifications:
An evocative name and the idea of blending elements with different and seemingly incompatible essences into a single design sums up the Le Due Facce della Luna luxury flatware service by Afra and Tobia Scarpa. The result is a perfectly balanced blend of beauty and function that plays on the contrast between 925 Sterling silver, used for the handles, and the stainless-steel bowls, blades and tines. Designed in 1979 for the San Lorenzo Atelier in Milan, a masterpiece of creativity rediscovered and faithfully re-issued by Cassina. The cylindrical silver handles enhance the sensual luxury of the silver, while the blades of the razor-sharp knives and the flawlessly forged and minted forks and spoons deliver exquisite functionality.
Collection: Le Corbusier, Pierre Jeanneret, Charlotte Perriand
Brand: Cassina
Specifications:
A timeless style that has written its own chapter in design history, becoming an icon of global fame. Designed for ease of conversation, the armchair was exhibited at the Salon d’Automne [Autumn Salon] in Paris in 1929 as the archetype of the modern concept of furnishings, interpreted by its authors as “household equipment”. The separation between the metal structure and the cushions is consistent with the principles of Rationalism, just as the separation between the parts is based on an industrial approach to production, reminiscent of the architectural relationship between the loadbearing structure and the in-fill elements. These models are also available in an eco-friendly version that stays true to the original design. Thanks to the study conducted by Cassina LAB, a partnership between the Cassina Research and Development Center and the Poli.design consortium of the Politecnico University in Milan, the foam-fill parts, the padding in the cushions and the tubular structure are produced with sustainable materials and processes.

Cassina in collaboration with Ginori 1735 and the Le Corbusier Foundation. The tableware, designed by Le Corbusier, was originally created for the Prunier restaurant in London. In 1961, owner Madame Prunier asked Corbusier to design a collection of tableware for her restaurant with the interlocking hands motif found on the bottom of the Les Mains tapestry, which was designed by the Master in 1951 and displayed in a private room of the establishment. Le Corbusier used the plates himself which, as he loved to say, combined quality and taste, or “the taste of forms”. In collaboration with Ginori 1735, Cassina has reissued the tableware with full respect for the original project, paying close attention to and focusing on its authenticity. Service Prunier includes a plate, soup dish, dessert plate and coffee cup with saucer and is made of white porcelain, like the model, with Le Corbusier’s original design applied by hand.

Collection: Bodil Kjaer
Brand: Cassina
Specifications:
From the post-war period, Bodil Kjær opened up her home to a fresh new camaraderie encouraged by versatile furniture that translated the new domestic routines and a renewed need for comfort into tangible designs. Internationally known Danish architect, Bodil Kjær starts with a concept that acknowledges the user’s active contribution and their actual needs. This approach led, in 1955, to the High Back Chair, an armchair designed for pure comfort that encourages relaxing in front of the color TV (invented around that time) but, in the version with armrests, is also ideal for reading. Bodil Kjær placed a special focus on ergonomics: with a padded seat and angled lines that invite unexpected relaxation, the armchair took inspiration from Swedish research of the day on comfort in a world in rapid, ongoing transformation. Padding is in polyurethane foam and recycled PET fiber recovered from Plastic Bank®.

With the various models of Fauteuil Grand Confort, grand modèle, the concept of modernity is expressed through the separation between the metal support frame and the upholstered elements. The loose cushions are set inside a painted or chrome-plated tubular steel cage that forms the primary support for the piece in all its variations ‒ from the armchair with armrest on one or both sides, to the two- and three-seat sofas. Over the years, Cassina has worked very closely with Charlotte Perriand, her daughter Pernette and the Fondation Le Corbusier to introduce new versions and finishes that, while reinterpreting the original design, remain faithful to its authentic nature. These models are also available in an eco-friendly version. Thanks to a study conducted by Cassina LAB, a partnership between the Cassina Research and Development Center and the Poli.design consortium of the Politecnico University in Milan, the foam-fill parts, the padding in the cushions and the tubular structure are produced with sustainable materials and processes.

Collection: Mario Bellini
Brand: Cassina
Specifications:
“This was a new kind of chair, constructed totally out of leather, much cloned since then.” Thus Mario Bellini describes Cab, a best-seller that he designed in the 1970s, which is now a signature piece in Cassina’s I Contemporanei collection. Cab was the first-ever chair to feature a free-standing leather structure, inspired by how our skin fits over our skeleton. The upholstery consists of sixteen pieces of saddle leather. Individually die-cut, they then undergo fourteen discrete procedures, again by hand. The pieces are sewn together only when their outer edges have been trimmed to ensure a perfect fit. Once assembled, the cover is attached to the chair’s steel skeleton and held in place by means of a zipper fastening, as in a bespoke tailored garment. The wide array of colours for the saddle leather cushion is now complemented by pigmented saddle leather in black, brown and Russian red.
