Designed by Vico Magistretti, this bookcase with its simple, clean-cut lines was the outcome of a detailed analysis of the classic model featuring side supports and shelves. This piece is an icon of design, yet also a veritable invention in terms of construction: the diagonal bracing struts become the support structure, and house the shelves, eliminating the need for side supports. Putting the focus on the hinges and the six shelves, the structure, which can be folded away, can also be used as a room-divider. Its elegant and primary aesthetic, timeless and easy to read, has made the Nuvola Rossa an undisputed design icon since 1977. It has been imitated several times as an example of simplified function achieved via an interplay of shapes.

The Infinito bookcase, designed in 1956/7 by Franco Albini, has expanded to include a new fixed to the wall version with a different and more stable floor support. This model was developed - in constant collaboration with the Maestro’s heirs - taking as its main reference a project designed by Albini himself together with Franca Helg in 1958, now on show at the Albini Foundation headquarters, together with drawings made for its reissue by the company Poggi. Infinito Wall is an even more contemporary and functional bookcase: thanks to the insertion of a low upright it is possible to add a dedicated storage unit with doors to create a compartment above that can hold a TV screen up to 65" with a 165cm shelf above it. The new cupboard can be equipped for the passage of cables, maintaining visual order and lightness; the doors are also available in smoked glass for the bookcase in stained black ash. With the introduction of these new modules, the hinges have also been updated to allow door adjustment and cushioned closure.

After a lengthy period of research and development, ably assisted by state-of-the-art technology, the company’s designers created a production prototype of the original 1940 piece that architect Franco Albini made as a one-off for his Milan home. Respecting the authentic underlying concept of the design, with its compelling experimental feel, as well as its surprisingly spare, linear looks, today’s model preserves the minimal ideal of the original: a feeling of air and light so that the books and objets seem to float free. Thus does Cassina restore to the contemporary world of design one of its most emblematic artefacts, a piece that has acquired the status of a work of art, as magical now as it was when it was first seen.

The Japanese influence in the design of this geometric container is immediately evident. Like a Haori, the traditional Japanese jacket worn with a kimono, Hayama is characterised by the same formal cut which plays on volume and subtraction. The legs, oblique in relation to the main structure, are the distinctive element of this simple and elegant sideboard. Apparently minimal, its solid form is accentuated by thinned edges that lighten its appearance. Perfect for living and dining areas, Hayama has two doors and transparent glass shelves inside. Hayama is available in one size either in polished lacquer in a wide choice of colours. The piece is re-reading of the work of the architect Kazuhide Takahama who industrialized the antique lacquering tradition, expressing the clear desire to go beyond rationalism through the research of relations with the past.

Represents, with the Red and Blue, the essence of the new spatial concept of neoplasticism. A key benchmark in the establishment of the Modern style, this sideboard, designed in 1919, was originally used in the model home designed by J․P Oud for Spargen, Rotterdam, and in various interior design projects, including the project for P․J Elling. The original model was destroyed in a fire and was only rebuilt under the supervision of the designer in 1951 for an exhibition at the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam. Today, Cassina produces this storage unit for the first time in its historic carpentry in Meda, in collaboration with the designer’s heirs. The pure lines of the structure create a grid based on a structural core to which surfaces, drawers and storage units are added. The model is influenced by F․L․ Wright and the Anglo- Japanese art of E․W․ Godwin, particularly as regards the accentuated horizontal surfaces, which are offset by the vertical supports which form a grid from which the storage compartments are hung. The supporting grid, virtually continuous, has contrasting sections of slats that exalt their dynamism towards the exterior.

The Casiers Standard formed part of a project for residential furniture by Le Corbusier and Pierre Jeanneret for the Pavillon de l’Esprit Nouveau at the Paris Exposition des Arts Décoratifs in 1925. Here, the cousins Jeanneret went beyond the traditional concept of furniture, introducing these modular storage units, alongside a number of other movable pieces. Unique and timeless, conceived to confer an architectural look to their environment, these units could accommodate a wide array of objects in a particular context, even going so far as to create partition walls. The Casiers Standard were relaunched in 2016, with a more contemporary look. Enhanced so as to be more versatile and functional than ever before, they are available in eighteen fixed compositions. These are based on a 75 x 75 x 37.5cm module that contains shelves, each of these featuring five height options; legs are supplied in two versions: four slim-line chromed pilotis, or two painted round pedestal bases.

A collection of contemporary, sculptural dining tables, where the designer’s expertise in metalwork comes together with Cassina’s artisan skills and excellence in joinery. Its clean, minimalist design pairs a super-slim wood top with slender legs in wood or anodized or painted aluminum, placed on the diagonal at the ends of the table to allow more space for the diners. An extraordinary challenge for the company’s Research Center that rose to the occasion with an innovative solution that combines stability, strength and pared-down thicknesses. The line includes two square versions, one oval with lacquer or veneer top and two rectangular versions, one mono-finish in all-marble, or with the top in marble and the legs in aluminum, which adds to the sculptural beauty of the collection. The Boboli table is characterised by its geometrically ordered lines, where the structural challenge facing Cassina was to ensure the stability of the slim-line twisted uprights that form the base. These uprights, both load- bearing and decorative, pay homage to the canons of the classical Italian garden, where plants were often trained vertically. The sinuous form of these aluminium legs confer a sculptural look to the design, where rigour and imagination come together to challenge the limits and the very nature of the material from which they are made. After several updates and revisitations, Cassina presented the latest iteration of the Boboli table in 2016, further improving its stability and resistance by fixing the table-top to the base. Exquisitely constructed, the Boboli collection of tables has been further enhanced with new painted aluminium finishes in matte black, dark gold chrome, gunmetal grey, mud.

Le Corbusier, Charlotte Perriand and Pierre Jeanneret exhibited the first version of this table in 1929 at the Salon d’Automne [Autumn Salon] in Paris as part of the “Équipement Intérieur d’une Habitation” [Interior Home Furnishings] stand. The table, in its original size, which was originally presented as a writing desk, was revisited by Perriand in 1984, and relaunched by Cassina one year later, offering new features to keep pace with contemporary needs. The minimalist design of the frame is revealed in the uniqueness of the chrome finish on the tubular steel uprights and the coloured lacquer finish on the crosspieces. The series includes tables and low tables, in square and rectangular formats, with top in clear, textured or tinted thermoformed glass and painted trim in the various shades of the Le Corbusier colour palette.

This table, which was designed by Le Corbusier and Pierre Jeanneret in 1925 for the Maison La Roche in Paris is characterised by the striking contrast between the support and what is supported. The pedestal, its width reduced to the minimum in relation to its height, meets the large horizontal plane and creates a stark contrast: a concept Le Corbusier explored elsewhere. The plastic and poetic merit of this piece derives from the reversal of roles: the table-top appears lighter than it really is, while the pedestal appears much stronger than it looks. The core concept for the Table tube d’avion table, introduced in 1929 at the Salon d’Automne [Autumn Salon], lies in the distinction between the support piece and the piece being supported; in other words, between the base and the top. The separation of the two parts is highlighted by the four intermediate supports that serve both as level adjusters and as spacers between the mass of the support and the slender lines of the top. Specifically, the base was designed in 1928, taking its cue from the oval profiles used in the aeronautical sector to separate the wings of biplanes. The current model has a steel base painted in the Le Corbusier palette of colours, while the top comes in glass, textured glass, wood or in luxurious white Carrara or black Marquina marble.

An absolute masterpiece, this unparalleled model of formal beauty was the fruit of an epiphany on the part of Carlo Scarpa, the designer. The Orseolo table is constructed from sheets of MDF coated in a thick layer of mirror- shine or matte polyester lacquer; this is poured hot onto the wood surface and then brushed and polished using special machines. The linear panels are joined together with satin-finish cast aluminium fasteners, which serve a dual purpose. Both aesthetic and functional, they relieve the stress at the critical points of the table, and thus help preserve the beauty of the lacquer finish.

Designed in 1955, the design of this table - a piece of furniture considered by Ico Parisi to be a central element in the home - accompanies the Maestro's career and evolves with different materials. The Olimpino table has a slender, bold and recognisable square section tubular metal frame made of two pairs of "Y" shaped uprights, whose upper inner arms converge to join under the top, while the outer arms diverge to block the rectangular plate of the top, in monolithic tempered glass, with a brass side stopper. The legs, thus paired, are strengthened with a double crossbar, also in metal, which opens near the sides and forms a double "V" shape. The solid wood arrow feet embellish the design, as do the large brass screws. The table is available in two sizes and one height.

The idea for this console table, designed by Ico Parisi in 1947 for a private client, stemmed from a few lines drawn on a sheet of paper: a horizontal line and two oblique lines to define a structure with almost perfect proportions and an organic appearance. Cassina has respected and enhanced the heart of this project by combining technology with craftsmanship, typical of the company's carpentry workshop; the result is a refined solid wood console table embellished with metal details that adapts to all rooms in the home. Its rectangular plane has four straight notched recesses on the two longest sides, near the extremities, within which, like real joints, the tips of the characteristic divergent "Y" shape upper arms of the legs, available in ash or Canaletto walnut, are screwed and bound two by two to a shaped crossbar. Balance and strength are guaranteed by two oblique turned solid wood elements, joined diagonally to the crossbar and embedded in the structure below.

Sengu Table is an almost monumental piece of furniture that celebrates conviviality through poetic dialogue, placing an accent on the union of different materials that together express great visual tactility. The oval and round table is characterised by a solid wood structure with an oval leg which is connected by one or two crosspieces to the two cylindrical legs. The top is in the same wood essence as the structure - Canaletto walnut, natural oak or stained black oak - or combined with a cylindrical column of strong presence available in a selection of marbles and coloured ceramics. A veritable masterpiece of the Italian design tradition, this sculpture-like table became, in the late-1960s, the emblem of the “Ultrarazionale” movement which, shrugging off the restraints imposed by the Rationalists, aimed to re- embrace traditional aesthetic values. Part of Cassina’s Simon Collection, the Doge table has been revisited with new textures and new materials. The architectural aluminium or satin-finish steel base, set off by the flat wide profiles, is the essential part of the table, while the elegantly refined mechanism linking top to base can be seen from above, through the glass of the table top. The new-look Doge table is available in five sizes, all taking their cue from Carlo Scarpa’s original design, with the table top being available in float-glass as well as white Carrara or black Marquiña marble.

Charlotte Perriand started work on the tables en forme libre in 1938. Originally intended for her own atelier in the Montparnasse area of central Paris, they went into production courtesy of Galerie Steph Simon at the end of the 1950s. All rounded edges, and asymmetrical lines, these tables are perfectly suited to accommodating up to eight guests in small spaces. The table has three legs: one is oval with a wider footprint, the other two are smaller and are cylinder-shaped. In 2011, Cassina re-issued this piece, reducing the width of the legs to offer more space and allow guests to sit closer to each other on convivial occasions. Supplied in mahogany solid wood, the table also comes with a gloss or matte varnished finish, in the Cassina Moodboard colours. The table-top is composed of wooden staves that slot into each other, the joins being seen at the ends, testifying to the Cassina company’s exceptional carpentry skills; any variations in the wood are part of the very nature of the raw material and serve to highlight its inherent beauty.

Starting in 1928, Charlotte Perriand designed a series of free-form tables for her studio in Montparnasse. Included among the en forme libre tables developed between 1938 and 1939, the final project was conceived in 1952 for the student rooms of the Maison du Mexique at the Cité Universitaire Internationale in Paris. The structure designed to take up as little space as possible provided for the possibility of placing several pieces side by side to create compositions with a wider and more regular shape. In 1952 the author replaced the wooden legs with triangular section legs in folded sheet metal. In 1956 a low version was made for the Galerie Steph Simon in Paris. The high thickness of the wooden top, available both in solid wood and in glossy or matt lacquer, conveys remarkable beauty, while the edges reveal a profile that is functional to the shape and size of the hand. In 2018, two new dining variants are added that allow you to accommodate 5 or 6 diners. New finishes have also been introduced which further increase the combinability and functionality of the tables.

I have exclusively worked with Lineaselect for my house renovation project. I have bought ceramic tiles and other bathroom fittings from them at a very good price. As with any house renovation project, the choice of good material makes all the difference. I started communicating with Jaunius with a simple price offer which evolved into more like continuous communication on range of different products.

I was a bit unsure about damages during the shipping, however, my order arrived without a single damaged item.
