Specifications:
The small armchair, dubbed Luisa, is the fruit of a fifteen-year process of exploration, focused on creating an archetype of the basic elements of a chair, and its potential uses within the home. A idea-based design, where Franco Albini expressed the concept of “substance in form”, increasing the volume of the wooden parts where they join with others. Following various enhancements, the definitive version of the chair was awarded the prestigious Compasso D’Oro prize by the Italian Industrial Design Association (Associazione per il Disegno Industriale/ADI). The frame represents a synthesis where the seat and the back are two geometric planes suspended on an understated wood structure, the sides reminiscent of trestles. Luisa is a timeless piece, the outcome of skill, both in terms of technique and of materials. This world exclusive Cassina re-issue, has been made possible thanks to the company’s extraordinary wood-working capabilities.
Collection: Charlotte Perriand
Brand: Cassina
Specifications:
Part of the Cassina collection since 2004, the Riflesso storage unit created in 1958 by Charlotte Perriand in association with Steph Simon has a new iteration. As in the case of the Tables en forme, which were designed in the 1930s and then upgraded in the 1950s to a more mature configuration, this multifunctional piece is characterised by wooden shelves with rounded edges with a strong Japanese influence, which was a common theme in Perriand's oeuvre. As was the case with all her furniture produced during this period, the expressiveness of the material itself became a distinguishing feature, creating soft eye-catching shapes of great elegance. Originally available in just one size and two heights, and only in a black finish, the new version is larger. The piece is available in mahogany, the sliding doors being natural or black anodised aluminium.

This clean-cut dynamic style confers on the future a piece of great value, aesthetically speaking, that makes a perfect partner in the home, or as a conference table, seating up to ten․

Brand: Cassina
Specifications:
Kazuhide Takahama’s Antella is a dual-purpose piece: a console that can be transformed into an oval table. The polyester painted frame, with a gloss or matte finish, is evocative of the ancient art of lacquer work, which was used on other products in the SimonCollezione. The two leaves are hinged and, in the console position, are secured using a magnet. Where space is available they can be opened up to form the table. Against the wall, Antella is a console. In the middle of the floor, it becomes a large table.

Specifications:
An international best-seller with warm, inviting shapes, where the back extends upwards to form a head-rest. The smooth, padded style, meantime, amplifies the sofa’s comfort quotient, affording myriad interpretations. Much imitated, Maralunga introduced the idea of an adjustable-height head- rest, achieved by means of a bicycle chain embedded in the foam cushions. This avant-garde mechanism, patented by Cassina, makes the back cushion unfold and move upwards, to form a head-rest. In 2014, to celebrate Maralunga’s fortieth anniversary, Cassina undertook a further restyling, making **the fabric upholstery removable** for cleaning, while adding details such as the edge-stitching that confers a more contemporary look to a design classic. The Maralunga family includes an armchair, a foot-rest and two- or three-seater sofas in several widths.

Stackable, light, and functional, the Ombra Tokyo chair is the perfect synthesis of gesture, form, and technology, expressing to perfection Perriand’s design ethos. Collection: Ico Parisi
Brand: Cassina
Specifications:
Designed in 1955, the design of this table - a piece of furniture considered by Ico Parisi to be a central element in the home - accompanies the Maestro's career and evolves with different materials. The Olimpino table has a slender, bold and recognisable square section tubular metal frame made of two pairs of "Y" shaped uprights, whose upper inner arms converge to join under the top, while the outer arms diverge to block the rectangular plate of the top, in monolithic tempered glass, with a brass side stopper. The legs, thus paired, are strengthened with a double crossbar, also in metal, which opens near the sides and forms a double "V" shape. The solid wood arrow feet embellish the design, as do the large brass screws. The table is available in two sizes and one height.
Collection: Charlotte Perriand
Brand: Cassina
Specifications:
Charlotte Perriand started work on the tables en forme libre in 1938. Originally intended for her own atelier in the Montparnasse area of central Paris, they went into production courtesy of Galerie Steph Simon at the end of the 1950s. All rounded edges, and asymmetrical lines, these tables are perfectly suited to accommodating up to eight guests in small spaces. The table has three legs: one is oval with a wider footprint, the other two are smaller and are cylinder-shaped. In 2011, Cassina re-issued this piece, reducing the width of the legs to offer more space and allow guests to sit closer to each other on convivial occasions. Supplied in mahogany solid wood, the table also comes with a gloss or matte varnished finish, in the Cassina Moodboard colours. The table-top is composed of wooden staves that slot into each other, the joins being seen at the ends, testifying to the Cassina company’s exceptional carpentry skills; any variations in the wood are part of the very nature of the raw material and serve to highlight its inherent beauty.

Specifications:
Starting in 1928, Charlotte Perriand designed a series of free-form tables for her studio in Montparnasse. With no sharp corners, the rounded and asymmetrical shapes communicate a pioneering elegance and the need for a design that does not dictate to the users but allows them the freedom to negotiate its shape at will. Innovative for the year of its debut in 1952, this “free-form desk”, re-edited by Cassina, conveys its timeless elegance through soft shapes and the warmth of the wood.
Collection: Marcel Breuer
Brand: Cassina
Specifications:
Delfi forms part of the Ultrarazionale collection, which was launched in 1968, and is composed of sculptural pieces designed by Carlo Scarpa, typified by his signature attention to detail and choice of materials. This table is a re- design of a Rationalist model created by Marcel Breuer in the 1930s for Dino Gavina’s residence in Bologna. At the end of the 1960s, Scarpa began to re- examine the original concept, effecting some variations, in agreement with the designer. In 2009, Tobia Scarpa, Carlo Scarpa’s son, suggested yet another variation: this time, a glass table-top so as to highlight the elegant brass supports and the fluting on the marble bases, the better to see the formal elegance of the piece.
Collection: Charles Rennie Mackintosh
Brand: Cassina
Specifications:
An extendable table, exemplifying the perfect balance between classic and contemporary, designed by Charles Rennie Mackintosh in 1905. The unique nature of this natural cherrywood table lies in the mechanism under the table-top that allows the table to be extended, this thanks to the small board located in the middle of the longest side of the top. When the upper table-top is lifted, one or both of the extensions can be added to the table.
Collection: Theodore Waddel
Brand: Cassina
Specifications:
This piece is the outcome of Theodore Waddell’s exploration, in 1956, of how to design tables with extremely light frames, and takes its inspiration from the architecture of tensile structures. Waddell studied the systems patented by Buckminster Fuller and, in 1972, created a type of configuration for Cassina where, for the first time ever, it proved possible to create furniture using suspension cables. The frame of these tables consists of six legs, of which three do not touch the floor, but provide support for the glass table- top. Meanwhile, the others touch the floor, but not the table-top. The result, extremely elegant and striking sculptural, is evocative of molecular structure.
