Collection: Philippe Starck
Brand: Cassina
Specifications: Complex and formal in its design, the Privé collection perfectly combines style and transgression, merging to create an appealing mix of classicism, provocation and playfulness. The collection is made up of diff erent models - different sized armchairs, sofas and islands - and uses upholstery exclusively in capitonné leather, for which Cassina has developed a new technique for attaching the characteristic leather buttons. This internationally patented system provides quality and durability. Privé is suitable for simple interiors, though it can easily blend into contemporary and informal settings.
Collection: Charlotte Perriand
Brand: Cassina
Specifications: It is through this veritable piece of design history that Cassina expresses its exceptional wood-working mastery. Designed, but not realised, in 1940, by Charlotte Perriand during her time in Tokyo, this chair uses bamboo to revisit the famous LC4 chaise-longue. Its organic form, curvy and inviting, has been re-issued and is now available in teak, and well as bamboo wood. The seat of this recliner is made of twelve curved strips of wood while the joining elements are satin-finish brass studs. Adding mattresses for outdoor use provides dashes of colour to help furnish a veranda, terrace, or any other kind of outdoor space.
Collection: Hommage À Pierre Jeanneret
Brand: Cassina
Specifications: This chair is one of the most recognisable in Chandigarh’s Capitol Complex, found throughout the offices of the Secretariat. The independent pieces, including the side bars in an inverted “V” supporting the armrests, are all made of solid wood. The woven backrest and seat, stretched across a wooden frame, are elements common in the area, much like the use of local woods like teak. Similar to the better-known office chair, this armless chair also uses the “V” approach to sidebars, in this case shorter as they do not extend to the arms. Importance, instead, is given to the seating/ backrest sequence in Viennese woven cane, connected with an immense geometric section supported by two wooden profiles, and coplanar legs, that together, are simple and yet, powerful at the same time. Cassina’s reissue offers the classic version in teak, and two versions in natural and stained black oak.
Collection: Hannes Wettstein
Brand: Cassina
Specifications: Chair without arms, internal steel structure, padded with CFC-free polyurethane foam. Feet in black plastic material. Covers in removable fabric or soft leather. The catalogue configuration has been expanded with the introduction of a new version finished with a combination of two materials: external shell in leather and internal part in a range of selected fabrics.
Collection: Mario Bellini
Brand: Cassina
Specifications: “This was a new kind of chair, constructed totally out of leather, much cloned since then.” Thus Mario Bellini describes Cab, a best-seller that he designed in the 1970s, which is now a signature piece in Cassina’s I Contemporanei collection. Cab was the first-ever chair to feature a free-standing leather structure, inspired by how our skin fits over our skeleton. The upholstery consists of sixteen pieces of saddle leather. Individually die-cut, they then undergo fourteen discrete procedures, again by hand. The pieces are sewn together only when their outer edges have been trimmed to ensure a perfect fit. Once assembled, the cover is attached to the chair’s steel skeleton and held in place by means of a zipper fastening, as in a bespoke tailored garment. The wide array of colours for the saddle leather cushion is now complemented by pigmented saddle leather in black, brown and Russian red.
Collection: Mario Bellini
Brand: Cassina
Specifications: Cab 412 Petite by Mario Bellini is a perfect scale reduction of the Cab, the first ever chair to feature a saddle leather upholstery that is fitted over the skeleton of the chair’s supporting metal frame and fixed with zips like a tailor-made ‘dress’. This miniature model, designed for children, has been made with the same attentive craftsmanship as the whole Cab family. Cab 412 Petite is available in a wide variety of colours.
Collection: Kazuhide Takahama
Brand: Cassina
Specifications: A storage unit with modern lines, although of classical inspiration, that becomes the emblem of the Ultrarazionale collection, in this case an example of ancient lacquering techniques are being customized for industrial-level manufacturing. The iconic symbol of the SimonCollezione di Cassina, Bramante stands out for its architectural presence and versatility of use in different environments. The 2019 revision - which now extends to the Bramantino version - maintains the shapes and dimensions but profoundly changes the constructive design by eliminating the modules, making it more contemporary and adding a new interior LED light and continuous glass shelves showcasing a spirit of innovation. The handcrafted finish enhances the surface with multiple lacquer passages that define its uniqueness and preciousness; Available only for the Bramante are three precious hand-shaded versions combing two different colours.
Collection: Gerrit Thomas Rietveld
Brand: Cassina
Specifications: Represents, with the Red and Blue, the essence of the new spatial concept of neoplasticism. A key benchmark in the establishment of the Modern style, this sideboard, designed in 1919, was originally used in the model home designed by J․P Oud for Spargen, Rotterdam, and in various interior design projects, including the project for P․J Elling. The original model was destroyed in a fire and was only rebuilt under the supervision of the designer in 1951 for an exhibition at the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam. Today, Cassina produces this storage unit for the first time in its historic carpentry in Meda, in collaboration with the designer’s heirs. The pure lines of the structure create a grid based on a structural core to which surfaces, drawers and storage units are added. The model is influenced by F․L․ Wright and the Anglo- Japanese art of E․W․ Godwin, particularly as regards the accentuated horizontal surfaces, which are offset by the vertical supports which form a grid from which the storage compartments are hung. The supporting grid, virtually continuous, has contrasting sections of slats that exalt their dynamism towards the exterior.
Collection: Patricia Urquiola
Brand: Cassina
Specifications: Paying homage to the work of Vico Magistretti, this innovative system of upholstered seating is underpinned by a supporting beam on which modules join together to create stylish, relaxing and functional compositions. The high, reclining back and the adjustable arm-rests create the effect of a warm, welcoming embrace, that effect heightened by the soft, inviting cushions. The mastery of Cassina’s craftsmanship is revealed in the pinched stitching around the perimeter of the cushions, adding an extra touch of refinement. With the feather-padded upholstery covering the CFCfree expanded polyurethane foam pads, adding to the cosy look and feel of the sofa. The system includes three sofas and various modular elements, including seating, side-tables, a foot-rest.
Collection: Charlotte Perriand
Brand: Cassina
Specifications: The first example of this table was made in 1937 for Charlotte Perriand’s Parisian studio in Montparnasse. The structure of the base of the Table à plateau interchangeable is made up of three circular section legs in black stained ash wood, joined by three crosspieces on which the table top, in extra-white glass or Marquinia or Carrara marble, is placed. A project designed to be declined in different ways, its top can be interchanged as required. In fact, the model can be found in many other projects by Charlotte Perriand. For example, in Japan in the 40’s with a top produced in local materials, and in the living areas of the apartments of the Unité d'Habitation in Marseille.
Collection: Afra & Tobia Scarpa
Brand: Cassina
Specifications: In 1967, Afra and Tobia Scarpa designed Carlotta for the Cassina Young Play program, a collection of sophisticated minimalist pieces designed to deliver casual comfort to a younger clientele. For Carlotta, the architects employed only four frames and a complex system of joints and finger joints. Their design simplicity highlights the skills of the Meda joinery in masterful wood craftsmanship, in this case, teak. The internal corners of the structure have the signature semi-circular cutouts that call to mind the intent of the original design to focus on optimizing the production process. The hand-woven support cords crisscross the frame, thanks to a twist in the wood produced with CNC machines, demonstrating the innovative content Cassina invests in the project. Carlotta is perfect outdoor seating for casual comfort, thanks to its cushions padded with recycled PET fiber.
Collection: Rodolfo Dordoni
Brand: Cassina

The seat cushion, in batting with a polyurethane foam insert, is upholstered in water-repellent fabric and attached to the solid teak slats with two straps. Distinctive grey gros-grain piping around the upper border adds a tailored touch to the upholstery. Brand: Cassina
Specifications: Bollicosa Nautilus has the same blown glass sphere as the Bollicosa indoor with the distinctive bubbly surface caused by the artisan blowing process; the natural irregularities make the material rough and matt and imbue it with a 3D quality that gives it the appearance of a fossilised stone to the naked eye. The outdoor version envelopes the diffuser with a neutral-coloured polypropylene cord net, with knots in contrasting colours, which recalls the hand weaves of the furniture in the Cassina outdoor collection. In two sizes, ∅ 30 cm or ∅ 50 cm, with fumé transparent glass with green knots, or pink with rust-coloured knots.

Collection: Man Ray
Brand: Cassina
Specifications: A mirror that reveals its special, unexpected, touch wherever it is used, the enigmatic wordplay screen-printed on the glass merging with whatever is being reflected. Created by Man Ray, the American painter, photographer and film- maker. One of the more radical and multi-talented exponents of both Dada and Surrealism, he was particularly renowned for his love of experimentation, which included his achieving some extremely innovative results using air- brushes, photographic film, and common objects. This oval mirror, is backed with stiff polyurethane, and derives from a larger piece created by the artist, adapting a Surrealist artwork into an object for everyday use. This mirror has been in production since 1971, as part of Ultramobile by Simon and now part of the Cassina SimonCollezione.

Collection: Le Corbusier, Pierre Jeanneret, Charlotte Perriand
Brand: Cassina
Specifications: Comfortable, contemporary lines set apart this sofa designed by Le Corbusier for his Paris apartment, where the original model is still preserved, and that inspired the lengthy re-edition process carried out by Cassina. In 1974, Charlotte Perriand collaborated in the first reworking of the original, in one size only, with chrome finish. Over the years, the finishes have been expanded and the sizes modified. The comfortable, elegant structure is dominated by the feather-filled cushions that form the backrest and seat, supported by an instantly recognizable metal base available in the seven collection colours. The current two- or three-seat edition comes with leather or fabric upholstery. This model is part of the Le Corbusier®, Pierre Jeanneret®, Charlotte Perriand® Collection.
Collection: Vico Magistretti
Brand: Cassina
Specifications: An international best-seller with warm, inviting shapes, where the back extends upwards to form a head-rest. The smooth, padded style, meantime, amplifies the sofa’s comfort quotient, affording myriad interpretations. Much imitated, Maralunga introduced the idea of an adjustable-height headrest, achieved by means of a bicycle chain embedded in the foam cushions. This avant-garde mechanism, patented by Cassina, makes the back cushion unfold and move upwards, to form a head-rest. In 2014, to celebrate Maralunga’s fortieth anniversary, Cassina undertook a further restyling, making the fabric upholstery removable for cleaning, while adding details such as the edge-stitching that confers a more contemporary look to a design classic. The Maralunga family includes an armchair, a footrest and two- or three-seater sofas in several widths.
Collection: Gerrit Thomas Rietveld
Brand: Cassina
Specifications: Cassina offers a new reinterpretation of the iconic model dated 1935: it is a new version, with reduced sizes to be ergonomically suited to children. Small armchair with main frame, seat and backrest in poplar plywood. Massive poplar wood armrests. Polyurethane foam and polyester padding. Not removable upholstery: fabric (in two shades of red) or eco-leather (in the colours red, yellow, blue) with white fine stitching. Feet in black plastic material.
Collection: Charlotte Perriand
Brand: Cassina
Specifications: The Doron Hotel armchair was designed in 1947 by Charlotte Perriand, a real mountain lover, for the winter sports resort of Méribel Les Allues and for Hôtel Doron, one of the first chalet-hotels, in the same location. The French designer always had a special and profound relationship with nature; in fact, she was one of the first to explore the relationship between man and his surrounding environment, seeking natural materials to use in her projects. Comfortable, textural and pleasant to the touch, the Doron Hotel armchair, already available for interiors, now comes in a solid teak outdoor version with soft and simple lines. The seat is padded with polyurethane foam covered with waterproof cloth. It can be paired with Charlotte Perriand's Table à Plateau Interchangeable.
Collection: Franco Albini
Brand: Cassina
Specifications: Defying the laws of physics, going beyond what we normally understand by the conditions of equilibrium, this bookcase is nothing short of a manifesto for Cassina’s design and construction capabilities. After a lengthy period of research and development, ably assisted by state-of-the-art technology, the company’s designers created a production prototype of the original 1940 piece that architect Franco Albini made as a one-off for his Milan home. Respecting the authentic underlying concept of the design, with its compelling experimental feel, as well as its surprisingly spare, linear looks, today’s model preserves the minimal ideal of the original: a feeling of air and light so that the books and objets seem to float free. Thus does Cassina restore to the contemporary world of design one of its most emblematic artefacts, a piece that has acquired the status of a work of art, as magical now as it was when it was first seen.
Collection: Rodolfo Dordoni
Brand: Cassina
Specifications: The Boboli table is characterised by its geometrically ordered lines, where the structural challenge facing Cassina was to ensure the stability of the slim-line twisted uprights that form the base. These uprights, both load- bearing and decorative, pay homage to the canons of the classical Italian garden, where plants were often trained vertically. The sinuous form of these aluminium legs confer a sculptural look to the design, where rigour and imagination come together to challenge the limits and the very nature of the material from which they are made. After several updates and revisitations, Cassina presented the latest iteration of the Boboli table in 2016, further improving its stability and resistance by fixing the table-top to the base. Exquisitely constructed, the Boboli collection of tables has been further enhanced with new painted aluminium finishes in matte black, dark gold chrome, gunmetal grey, mud.
Collection: Le Corbusier, Pierre Jeanneret, Charlotte Perriand
Brand: Cassina
Specifications: The core concept for the Table tube d’avion table, introduced in 1929 at the Salon d’Automne [Autumn Salon], lies in the distinction between the support piece and the piece being supported; in other words, between the base and the top. The separation of the two parts is highlighted by the four intermediate supports that serve both as level adjusters and as spacers between the mass of the support and the slender lines of the top. Specifically, the base was designed in 1928, taking its cue from the oval profiles used in the aeronautical sector to separate the wings of biplanes. The current model has a steel base painted in the Le Corbusier palette of colours, while the top comes in glass, textured glass, wood or in luxurious white Carrara or black Marquina marble.
Collection: Le Corbusier, Pierre Jeanneret, Charlotte Perriand
