The assembly of curved shapes and simple tubular metalelements creates a balanced shape, which is ideal both in
residential settings and in smart contract environments
(such as offices, waiting rooms, hotel lobbies). The main
characteristic of Bahia is the curved backrest that extends
forward in a single line, allowing the arms to rest freely
while enveloping the user’s back for maximum comfort.
Upholstered in leather, eco-leather or fabric, it is also
available in the Bahia S version, with a square-shaped
backrest. Comfortable from the first glance, thanks to its
organic shapes, the collection is also characterised by
slender legs in metal, flexing outwardly: and the frame, thin
but rigorous, that highlight, through contrast, the
sinuousness of the backrest and seat.

with the open space kitchen or with the open bar of the
living room, but that is perfect also for collective spaces in
the contract sphere. The rounded and soft lines of Tab
bring to mind the world of nature: the seat is in fact
smoothed as if it were a pebble, so as to make the stool,
together with the footrest, even more welcoming for a
well-deserved moment of relaxation. Tab is available in
polypropylene or in emery leather upholstery for a touch of
elegance and warmth.

the legs, made of solid ash-wood. The five colours
available for the seat, combined with the three wooden
finishes in which it is possible to choose the legs, allow
one to create elegant tone-on-tone combinations or bold
compositions.

This chair is one of the most recognisable in Chandigarh’s Capitol Complex, found throughout the offices of the Secretariat. The independent pieces, including the side bars in an inverted “V” supporting the armrests, are all made of solid wood. The woven backrest and seat, stretched across a wooden frame, are elements common in the area, much like the use of local woods like teak. Similar to the better-known office chair, this armless chair also uses the “V” approach to sidebars, in this case shorter as they do not extend to the arms. Importance, instead, is given to the seating/ backrest sequence in Viennese woven cane, connected with an immense geometric section supported by two wooden profiles, and coplanar legs, that together, are simple and yet, powerful at the same time. Cassina’s reissue offers the classic version in teak, and two versions in natural and stained black oak.

Collection: Mario Bellini
Brand: Cassina
Specifications:
“This was a new kind of chair, constructed totally out of leather, much cloned since then.” Thus Mario Bellini describes Cab, a best-seller that he designed in the 1970s, which is now a signature piece in Cassina’s I Contemporanei collection. Cab was the first-ever chair to feature a free-standing leather structure, inspired by how our skin fits over our skeleton. The upholstery consists of sixteen pieces of saddle leather. Individually die-cut, they then undergo fourteen discrete procedures, again by hand. The pieces are sewn together only when their outer edges have been trimmed to ensure a perfect fit. Once assembled, the cover is attached to the chair’s steel skeleton and held in place by means of a zipper fastening, as in a bespoke tailored garment. The wide array of colours for the saddle leather cushion is now complemented by pigmented saddle leather in black, brown and Russian red.

This piece is the result of sophisticated research on the theme of padded thick leather that reaches very thin tailoring solutions. Mario Asnago and Claudio Vender began their professional partnership in the 1930s and are legitimately considered among the leading exponents of Italian rationalism. Despite its age, the Moka chair is surprisingly modern and dense with design references reminiscent of pure rationalism. The chair’s structure is made of slender, elegant tubular metal and comes in painted black, white or aluminum color. The seat back features an elegant X-shaped design and the unique woven seat is made of plant fiber or cowhide. The pure, uncomplicated design of the Moka chair places it among the products sure to remain untouched by the passage of time and fleeting fashions.
