A classic evergreen first launched in 1966, the Coronado armchair is a symbol of relaxation. Offered with a high backrest, it ensures utmost comfort by means of a suspension system made from harmonic steel bands inserted into the back frame. Its revolutionary personality in terms of design and materials offers a prime example of B&B Italia’s industrial culture. However, its is the product’s sophisticated aesthetics, conceived as a trait-d’union between period furniture and a growing desire for modernity, that has decreed its success over time. An all-encompassing example of design, the Coronado collection, which also includes a line of sofas, emerged from the idea of matching an iron frame with the revolutionary technology of cold moulded polyurethane foam, introduced to the furnishing sector by B&B Italia.

Almora is a revolving chair named after the Indian region that offers a breath-taking view of the Himalayas and, quoting its designers, it longs to be “a haven from the world, a place for contemplation and reading from where one can admire magnificent snow-capped peaks. As protective as a second skin, enveloping like a soft blanket”. Dedicated to relaxation, it is composed of two conical glass fibre shells: that of the seat resting directly on the base and that of the backrest. The headrest, in curved wood in different finishes, has a padded portion and fits into the back shell, appearing at the same time slightly detached. Almora is an armchair that stands out for the balanced composition of the different elements, the materials and the leather upholstery. The coordinated footrest completes the proposal.

What makes them special is the apparent absence of a load bearing structure, the extreme naturalness of the shape, and the combination of comfort, softness and elasticity that their appearance conveys. Where the original construction was based on a metal structure embedded in polyurethane, now the materials used are of the latest generation, starting from recycled polyethylene gives structure. A sustainable project thanks to the choice of materials and the construction method, that allows the components of Le Bambole to be completely disassembled and therefore easily recyclable.

Flair O’ is a small domestic throne, a chair that matches the Allure O’ table perfectly. The two objects establish a dialogue starting from their bases. Both pieces sit atop a truncated pyramid with rounded edges to reconcile the concepts of elegance and charm. The base widens gently on the back side as it nears the floor. It becomes almost unnoticeable and provides great stability without interfering with the harmony of the design. A padded seat provides necessary comfort. Moreover, the accentuated tilt of the backrest and its enveloping shape help people relax without compromising the ideal posture to adopt when interacting with others elegantly around a dining table. Furthermore, the chair is equipped with a swivel mechanism with an automatic return. The fabric cover embraces Flair O’ like a tailored suit, covering it completely from the seat to the base.

A chair and stool in two heights, Papilio can be used in formal contexts, while also allowing for a more informal use by leaning on one of the back’s “wings”, inspired by those of a butterfly (or “Papilio” in Latin). The formal balance derives from the constant thickness of the shell and from the shape of the seat, which is sinuous in the upper part and then merges with the light steel frame. Upholstered in either leather or fabric, Papilio’s cover can be removed using a metal zipper on the back, a functional and decorative detail that characterises the entire line of chairs of the same name.

The Belle wooden chair stands out for its rounded lines and leather upholstered seat. The round section legs are given a classical feel by curving slightly outwards in the lower part. Towards the top they join up with the backrest to create elegant, elbow-shaped armrests. The backrest comes in two versions: in wood, in the same finishes as the frame, or upholstered in leather to match the seat. With a clever play of literary and stylistic references, the Belle chair is the delicate, feminine counterpart to the Bull table, but can easily be combined with other models as well.
