The Bibambola and Granbambola sofas are part of Le Bambole series, originally designed in 1972, awarded with the Compasso d’Oro in 1979. Icon of timeless contemporaneity and one of the most effective expressions of Made in Italy excellence combining research and creative flair, Le Bambole have provided a very personal answer to the theme of seats. What makes them special is the apparent absence of a load bearing structure, the extreme naturalness of the shape, and the combination of comfort, softness and elasticity that their appearance conveys. Where the original construction was based on a metal structure embedded in polyurethane, now the materials used are of the latest generation, starting with recycled polyethylene gives structure. A sustainable project thanks to the choice of materials and the construction method, that allows the components of Le Bambole to be completely disassembled and therefore easily recyclable.

The idea behind the line is a basic platform, magically suspended in the air like a flying carpet, with cushions to enclose the borders and feet to ground it. The seats, in three sizes, come with embracing or linear backs and armrests of various dimensions, added harmoniously to create a sofa adapted to the customer’s space and personal taste. The details of the cushions and support base contribute to the design’s lightness. The seat cushion has refined modular stitching; the back cushions, available in two sizes, are outlined by profiled bands. The support base is made of crosspieces with rounded steel feet connected to each other by a bar. The system also offers a sofa bed, adopting the other sofas’ seating and back elements.

In the version with an Eastern-style low seat height, Dock is a collection of upholstered elements with a multiple soul, rendered highly flexible by the countless configurations made possible by the numerous elements included in the collection. The slender armrests, available in two depths, are generously padded, just like the backrest.
