Cattelan Italia was established in 1979 by Giorgio and Silvia Cattelan. Giorgio was the youngest son of 7 children and spent his childhood surrounded by furniture creation that was done by his father. The craft of his family made a significant impact on Giorgio thus Cattelan Italia was born out of love for original and unique furniture craftsmanship.
The first products of the company were made out of marble, including tables and coffee tables. From the beginning, Cattelan was focusing on exporting and soon achieved recognition in the USA, Europe, and the Far East.
During the years of business, Cattelan Italian broaden their collection and started manufacturing dining tables, chairs, bookshelves, and other pieces from natural materials such as metal, wood, glass, and leather.
In the 90s, two sons of Giorgio Cattelan – Paolo and Lorenzo joined the family business, both with their direction. Lorenzo takes part in developing the general image and the artistic part and Paolo becomes a commercial marketing manager of the company, spreading the word about the company all over the world.
Cattelan Italia cherishes the work of talented designers and architects, thus collaborations with them came naturally. Yoshino, Plazzoga, De Longhi, Nanni, Studio Ca Nova, Gruppo graphite, Shito, Jackson, Lucatello, and many more names were part of Cattelan Italia, creating stunning pieces that received awards in various furniture fairs across the world.
The manufacturing plant of the company has been expanding since the start of the company and currently has 33 000 square meters of space. Cattelan Italia has grown into a global company that is displayed in more than 2500 showrooms in 104 countries around the world.
