FL/Y is an essentially-styled suspension lamp. The particular transparency of the material and the sheen of the colours recreate the idea of a soap bubble, shimmering iridiscently in the light. The shade is not perfectly hemispherical, with the cut-off falling just below the level of the diameter, offering greater concentration of the light. The shape of Take is the result of the joining of two specular parts: two flat, rectangular sheets which, from being two-dimensional at the centre, take on the shape and volume of a "semi-lamp". This study table was born for the office. The gentle, hourglass shape allows Max to sit side-by-side with tables of the same type as well as with other office furnishings. Pietro Ferruccio Laviani was born in 1960 in Cremona, where he obtained his diploma in 1978 from the International Professional Institute for Violin and Wood Crafts. In 1984, he graduated from the SPD Scuola Politecnica di Design in Milan under the guidance of Nino Di Salvatore, before getting a degree in architecture at the Milan Polytechnic in 1986, studying with Marco Zanuso and Achille Castiglioni. In 1997 he worked with Castiglioni on the design of the exhibition dedicated to Gio Ponti and Vico Magistretti at the Salone del Mobile. After a fruitful collaboration with Michele De Lucchi, whose partner he became for several years, he opened his own office in Milan in 1991. This marked the start of Laviani's intense professional activity as a designer, graphic designer and architect, creating objects, installations, commercial spaces, offices and residential accommodations.
