Named after the coral formation, the modular sofa system B&B Atoll is a refined expression of a balanced aesthetic form and a decisive contemporary style that is also extremely elegant. The system is built on three basic platforms that are complemented by armrest and backrest elements to form various types of seats: sofas, dormeuses, corner-end modules, single or modular elements with chaise longue and ottomans. The frames have light, slender lines and are applied on high die-cast supports with metal profile emphasising the line between the structure and upholstery. The pieces are given even more character by a supporting element to be placed wherever desired, a bolster in two sizes attached by leather straps to a die-cast structure. This accessory can be inserted between the seat cushion and the base structure to provide an additional support or become an armrest or backrest at will. B&B Atoll is a dynamic project with a constantly fresh ability to adapt to different compositions and create different seating types, from informal relax versions to most formal, also made possible by the use of complementary back cushions.

Innovative in its warm minimalism, the Ayana outdoor sofa, available in a two- and three-seater version, sees wood as the absolute protagonist. While the depths and heights are a clear reference to the south-east Asian tradition, the backrest recalls a Swedish wall bar, a piece of exercising equipment turned into a load-bearing element. Through this solution, creating an elegant interplay of intersections and proportions, the Ayana sofas can also be placed in the centre of the room. The sofa armrest can be combined with a cushion that is easy to fasten and remove and helps to lie down more comfortably if necessary. Ayana is a project with a green soul. The teakwood used for the frames is FSC® (Forest Stewardship Council) certified and all the materials that make up the various elements of the series are designed to be separated and disposed of in an environmentally friendly manner, at the end of the product’s life cycle.

With its enveloping, feminine lines, Crinoline is a series of outdoor seats whose very name echoes romantic nineteenth-century ladies’ skirts. The armchair with a high backrest is characterised by a wide hollow base, also echoed in the seat and in the curvature of the back. It comes in two versions: with a polyethylene fibre interlacing, or in two colours of abaca for base and seat. In the latter version, the backrest is made even more precious and romantic by a floral interlacing motif. The small armchair is characterised by a curved double shell silhouette with polyethylene fibre interlacing. The seat cushion is upholstered in a wide range of outdoor fabrics. The Crinoline series also includes small armchairs, chairs and stools.

The Belle wooden chair stands out for its rounded lines and leather upholstered seat. The round section legs are given a classical feel by curving slightly outwards in the lower part. Towards the top they join up with the backrest to create elegant, elbow-shaped armrests. The backrest comes in two versions: in wood, in the same finishes as the frame, or upholstered in leather to match the seat. With a clever play of literary and stylistic references, the Belle chair is the delicate, feminine counterpart to the Bull table, but can easily be combined with other models as well.

The Charles Large modular sofa is an exceptionally comfortable seat with a fabric or leather cover. Airy and light in shape, it develops the idea of the sofa as a welcoming shelter where you can also lie down. The project reinterprets and enriches the Charles system, a long-standing best seller of B&B Italia, with a version with a wider depth. The project’s striking features remain the essential design of the die-cast aluminium feet in the shape of an inverted “L”, the single seat cushion, and the free back cushions.

This project is the result of a group of modular panels of different sizes, which can be assembled through hinges to act as back and armrest and hold a soft seats. Blocked and supported by the legs, the entirely upholstered and lined panels display a concave plastic surface on the outside, which visually moves the elements and enhances their effect of lightness. The types originated from this system include a small two-seater sofa in two different sizes and a small three-seater sofa in two different sizes.

A development of the Tufty-Time system, Tufty-Too – in fabric or leather – stands out for a perceptible feeling of softness along with a decorative quality based on a high-quality tailoring finish. This contemporary proposal makes reference to the ‘60s and’ 70s: the citation of the capitonné style lies in the matching or contrasting hues of the cover seams, which become a distinctive feature. The entire line is marked by exceptional modularity and absolute compositional freedom. Numerous elements make up the system, starting with an ottoman as the basic piece, which is then accompanied by central, corner and terminal elements with a low or high armrest. These elements are used to invent traditional sofas, sofas with chaise longue, corner sofas and island elements that provide a 360° seating solution.

Colosseo fits smoothly into the highly successful product category of accessories, furnishing elements that change function according to occasion and need, and for Colosseo this means transforming from coffee table to ottoman. When designing this new product, Fukasawa arrived at the shape he was searching for by considering a solid in the form of an upside-down truncated cone, lightened by arch-shaped grooves that define the surface, creating an assonance with the structure of the famous Roman arena it is named after. Made of hard polyurethane painted in several glossy colours, Colosseo is available in two sizes.

Multipurpose tables with lacquered cylindrical bases that taper in slightly at the bottom smoothing out their geometry. There are two oval variants accompanied by a third with a round shape. The metal bending and curving processes used exploit techniques typically used in the aeronautical sector and transport them into the world of outdoor furniture, giving life to a product with an unmistakable style. Ultra-generous and cosy cushions that are soft, relaxing and sustainable, ensure maximum comfort. The padding is in 100% polyester fibre obtained from the recycling of PET plastic bottles and surrounds a polyurethane section of different densities. 280 bottles are used to create the padding of a Borea armchair, available in a wide range of covers.

The Bambola armchair is part of Le Bambole series, originally designed in 1972, awarded with the Compasso d’Oro in 1979. Icon of timeless contemporaneity and one of the most effective expressions of Made in Italy excellence combining research and creative flair, Le Bambole have provided a very personal answer to the theme of seats. What makes them special is the apparent absence of a load bearing structure, the extreme naturalness of the shape, and the combination of comfort, softness and elasticity that their appearance conveys. Where the original construction was based on a metal structure embedded in polyurethane, now the materials used are of the latest generation, starting from recycled polyethylene gives structure. A sustainable project thanks to the choice of materials and the construction method, that allows the components of Le Bambole to be completely disassembled and therefore easily recyclable.

A brand new element in the Noonu archipelago is the bed. Its lines echo the design of the sofa, in particular the headboard, an element that instantly stands out for its understated grandeur, attracting the eye and enveloping the body. In pure Noonu style, the underlying frame is slightly suspended off the ground as if floating on the floor. At the base of the bed we find the usual metal profile in curved aluminium, available in bright brushed, black chromed and pewter grey versions. As with the whole Noonu range, the bed can be covered in leather or fabric. For ease of movement, the bed can rest on four fixed feet or on two fixed feet and two wheels, positioned inside the frame to remove them from view.
